Job Description

Total hours per week: 35 hours / week

Duration: Eight weeks

This position is being advertised under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative. To be eligible for this position, you must have been a full-time (domestic) student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year and between 19 and 30 years of age.

Reporting to Marketing Coordinator, the Community Worker will encompass building relationships and tailoring our offering across various sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and rapport with individuals and organizations to comprehend their needs, concerns, and challenges.
  • • Provide information about available services, resources, or programs that could benefit the community organizations and their clients, including healthcare, social services, education, or other relevant support systems.
  • Establish partnerships and collaborating with other organizations, agencies, or stakeholders to enhance support and resources available to the community,.
  • Assess the needs of individuals or communities through interviews, surveys, or other evaluation methods to identify gaps in services or areas for improvement,
  • Assist in conducting workshops, training sessions to empower community member organizations with skills and knowledge that can benefit to them.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education is preferred.
  • A high level of oral and written communication skills, cultural sensitivity, initiative, problem solving ability, and knowledge of government and community services in London and area
  • Ability to perform effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer focused skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer user skills (Microsoft Office and others)
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable.
